Who Will Win ‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2017? Rashad Jennings, Emma Slater Take No. 1 Spot In Finals
There’s been another shakeup in Season 24 of “Dancing With the Stars.” Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy were knocked out of the No. 1 spot on the leaderboard in the semifinals and they’re still there after the first part of the two-part finale.
Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater brought their A-Game to the “DWTS” ballroom on Monday. The pair performed two perfectly scored routines, increasing their chances of taking home the Mirrorball Trophy. Their redemption Viennese Waltz and freestyle routine wowed the judges, helping them maintain their lead over Normani and Val in the final rounds of Season 24 competition.

Team Valmani is hot on their trail, however. The pair performed a redemption Quickstep that was lightning fast, but not perfect. Their freestyle earned them a perfect score, but combined with their earlier 38 out of 40 it wasn’t enough to get back on top of the leaderboard.
Seated just behind them in third place is David Ross and partner Lindsay Arnold. The pair proved themselves Mirrorball Trophy contenders during Monday’s episode of “DWTS,” performing a redemption Viennese Waltz and a high-energy — and flawless — freestyle for a combined score of 73 out of 80. There’s certainly a chance that these two, dubbed the fan favorite, could win Season 24 on Tuesday night, but only time will tell.
Although David and Lindsay have defied the odds, climbing the ranks and knocking out some seriously talented competitors on this season of “DWTS,” the former Chicago Cubs catcher remains as humble as ever. ET Online caught up with him after Monday’s show to discuss his first perfect score. David, 40, admitted he wasn’t expecting it, but was grateful and ready to go out on that high note.
“I mean I was expecting, hopefully one 10. I got all of them, so that was nice,” he said. “I’m not even so concerned with the scores, and it did feel great. But just to end on a note like that with her and our freestyle, that was so much fun.”
After the way Team Lady and the Gramp performed in Week 10 and took Simone Biles and Sasha Farber out of the competition in Week 9, viewers are more curious than ever about their chances of winning the Mirrorball. According to Oddsmakers, the chances are slim to none although nothing is impossible on “DWTS.” The betting site has David and Lindsay’s probability of winning at 7 to 1, while Rashad and Emma and Normani and Val have odd of 9 to 4 and 2 to 9, respectively.
Normani will have an extra challenge to deal with in the finals that may just lessen her chances of being crowned the winner. Ahead of the finale, TMZ obtained video that showed the Fifth Harmony singer rolling her ankle during practice. ET Online later confirmed that she was injured, though the site reported that she would likely still dance in the “DWTS” 2017 finals.

This isn’t the first blow she’s been dealt in the competition. Normani was injured back in Week 7, though she kept the severity under wraps. She later told Us Weekly that she was taking medication to manage the pain, but her doctors worried that the pace she was going threatened to take her “severe strain” to a new level.
“I’m on medication, and I just have to pace myself and take things step by step,” she said. “[The doctor] literally told me if I keep going at the rate that I’m going that I could crack my hip, which I don’t want. I have three weeks left of the competition and it’s, like, so close, but so far. I just have to play it smart.”
