The first trailer for the much-awaited second season of Disney+ blockbuster “The Mandalorian” has landed (watch above), setting off the hype train at full speed. Between the return of "Star Wars" fan-favorites like Din Djarin and, of course, Baby Yoda, many have begun to speculate about the identity of a mysterious woman spotted in a black hood.

Initially, some fans guessed that the woman might be Rosario Dawson as beloved “Star Wars: Clone Wars” character, Ahsoka Tano, who is said to be making her live-action debut this season. This idea was shot down quickly, as the woman looks nothing like Dawson and lacks any of Tano’s distinct alien face markings.

Wrestling fans were quick to point out that the woman is clearly WWE performer, Sasha Banks, who was rumored to have a role in the series earlier in 2020. It is still unclear who Banks – real name, Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado – is playing, but the trailer positions her with an air of menace, seeming to stalk the Mandalorian and his adopted child before disappearing.

Some fans have speculated that Banks could be playing Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian graffiti artist and ex-bounty hunter introduced in the “Star Wars: Rebels” animated series, noted by some fans for her ability to disappear like Banks does in the trailer.

A five-time women’s champion and two-time tag team champion, Banks has been one of the most popular women’s wrestlers in WWE for the last five years. Alongside Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and longtime rival Bayley, Banks is part of the “Four Horsewomen” stable, a collective of talent largely credited with legitimizing women’s wrestling in WWE after years as a problematic afterthought in the company.

The second season of “The Mandalorian” premieres on Disney+ on Oct. 30. Alongside Ahsoka Tano, the season is also said to feature the return of Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett.
