Why ‘90 Day Fiancé’ Star Jenny Understands Sumit’s Lie About Secret Wife

When “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” Season 2 premiered, Jenny Slatten and Sumit were looking forward to rebuilding their relationship and moving forward after the Palm Springs native learned a devastating secret about her fiancé.

Last season, fans of the TLC series saw Jenny leave her life in America behind to move to India and marry Sumit. However, the couple’s plans fell apart once it was revealed that Sumit was already in an arranged marriage.

Although he lied to Jenny about his relationship status, he insisted that they were in love and he wanted to be with her. According to E! News, Jenny’s feelings for Sumit remained the same once the truth was revealed.

In a recent press call, Jenny claimed that she understands why Sumit felt the need to lie to her about his life in India.

“Sumit and I, our relationship has always been Sumit and I. If you understand his culture, you’ll understand why what happened to him happened to him…And I understand. I still love him all the same…you need to understand his culture, and then you’ll understand,” she explained.

Although something like a secret wife has the power to end a relationship, Jenny revealed that she and Sumit have a special bond.

“Sumit and I are not done with each other. We’re still in a relationship. He was married…the marriage wasn’t his choice. He didn’t want to be married,” the “90 Day Fiancé” star said.

“We’re just not done with each other. We’re in this relationship…going on 9 years. We’ve invested a lot into this relationship, and we love each other…if people don’t like it then that’s the way it is.”

When viewers tune into the TLC series, they will see Jenny and Sumit fight for their love against naysayers like Sumit’s family, who don’t approve of the relationship.
