Tyler and Korey have the best record of first-place finishes going into the “Amazing Race” finale. CBS

They’ve been one of the teams that’s performed well throughout Season 31, and it’s not a surprise that Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, a.k.a #TeamTylerandKorey, have made it to the final two legs on “The Amazing Race.” while they will still need to compete very hard, the two also seem most likely to take home the title of “Amazing Race” champs—and of course, $1 million.

Any number of scenarios could play out as teams head first to London, and then to Detroit, where the finish line will await them. While Tyler and Korey do have more than a few pros under their belts which seem to indicate that they are more likely to win, a few small cons could stand in their way in the end, allowing one of the other teams to beat them to the mat.

Pros:

They Have The Highest Number Of First-Place Finishes

While first-place finishes throughout the earlier legs don’t always mean a team wins the final one, having a larger number of them can be a sign that indicates they will perform well in the leg that counts the most. Of the teams in these final legs, Korey and Tyler have the best record when it comes to finishing in first, taking four legs in a row. In addition, they generally have a record of strong finished, save for two legs, one of which saw them only come in 7th because they had been U-Turned and needed to complete an additional task, which put them behind the other teams.

They Don’t Make A Lot Of Mistakes

For the most part, Tyler and Korey have run very clean legs, not really veering off-course when it comes to choosing how they approach a task or making major mistakes that could knock them out completely. Perhaps their one time they didn’t choose tasks well was back in Leg 3 in Vietnam when they wound up picking a time-consuming Detour involving fishing, which didn’t suit them well. Otherwise, they’ve managed to make the right decisions for their partnership and executed their tasks with precision.

The Other Teams Don’t Really Have An Issue With Them

While alliances are generally called off in the last leg, not having a target on your back can be an asset—and that is something Tyler and Korey don’t have. While they’ve been strong, which makes them somewhat threatening, they’ve also managed to stay out of the drama that has enveloped some of the other teams. If there is a chance to undermine them in the final leg, the other teams may be less likely to utilize the ability if they consider them friends.

Cons:

They Have Strong Competitors

The one big thing standing in their way is another team that has also performed consistently—and has also had some strong finishes. If Colin and Christie have a perfect final leg, they will likely edge out Tyler and Korey as a result.

Do you think Tyler and Korey will win $1 million? Tune in to the Season 31 finale of “The Amazing Race,” Wednesday, June 26 at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
