Why British People Need To ‘Get Behind’ Princess Beatrice Following Royal Wedding
The royal family has been through a lot lately, especially following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave their lives as royals behind and take up residence in Canada. However, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now out of the picture, some royal experts are saying that the British people need to start focusing on supporting a different member of the royal family.
Royal commentator Grant Harrold revealed to Express UK that he thinks following her royal wedding this May, the public should start to show their support to Princess Beatrice since she is a royal who still retains an HRH title, even if she has always been a minor member of the family.
“This is, after all, a Royal wedding as Beatrice is an HRH and a Princess, so I do hope the country gets behind her and lets her enjoy her day considering all of the recent negative press on the British Royal Family,” he said.
The comment about people following her came as he also stated that he was hopeful the Princess’ big day would not be overshadowed by the scandals that have enveloped her father in recent months—ones which also caused him to step back from his royal duties as well.
“I certainly hope that the wedding is not overshadowed by issues that she has had no part in as this would be rather inappropriate,” he said. “Any daughter in the world has the dream of their father walking them down the aisle so why should her dream be any different.”
Regardless of where the British people stand when it comes to Princess Beatrice and their support of her in the future, her wedding could still cause another stir besides the level of involvement her father has in it. Though it is supposed to be a more subdued affair and won’t be televised, many are wondering if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would attend—though rumors claimed in the past that Beatrice was hesitant to invite them anyway because she felt they overshadowed her sister, Princess Eugenie, on her own wedding day, by announcing their pregnancy at the same time.
