Why Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Thought Their Relationship Was Just A Rebound At First?
When Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton meet in 2014, they were both judges on “The Voice.” The pair had instant chemistry on the show, and soon a relationship would follow.
At the time both Stefani and Shelton were going through their own turmoil as their marriages fell apart and they headed toward divorce. Stefani’s husband at the time, Gavin Rossdale, cheated with their nanny and rumors circulated that Shelton’s wife, Miranda Lambert, was also allegedly cheating on the country singer.
As both Stefani and Shelton watched their marriages crumble, they leaned on each other and became quick friends that were soon romantically involved, the Showbiz CheatSheet reported. Some fans thought the couple was too different and that it was just a rebound relationship for both of them, the news outlet said.
Shelton even admitted that he and Stefani also thought it was a rebound relationship to get through the rough patch in their lives. Shelton told Today that, “I think if Gwen and I were being honest right now, talking about it, I think in the back of our minds we both kind of thought, it’s a rebound deal because we’re both coming out of a pretty low spot in our lives, and we’re kind of clinging to each other to get through this.”
Fast forward more than three years later, and Stefani and Shelton are still going strong. The pair consider each other “soulmates” and soon will be seen working together on the next season of “The Voice.” Stefani will replace Adam Levine, who is leaving the show.
Rumors of marriage surround the couple, but neither one feels the need to say I do. According to an AOL source, “They both came from difficult situations and marriages that didn’t last. They have worked hard to get past that and so appreciate what they have with one another. They feel as if they are soulmates and don’t need a ring and a wedding at the moment.”
