KEY POINTS

  • Instagram has yet to make an iPad version of their app
  • The company CEO notes that it's not at the top of their priorities
  • Instagram is focusing on adding features for the app instead.

Even after many years, a dedicated Instagram app is still not available on the iPad. Instagram’s CEO has spoken about not making the app on the iPadOS. Many fans have been waiting for the iPad version of Instagram.

According to Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, the company doesn’t have the resources to make the iPadOS Instagram app. The company is prioritizing new features to the Instagram app and making the iPad Instagram is out of their priorities. “We’d like to build an iPad app, but we only have so many people and lots to do, and it hasn’t bubbled up as the next best thing to do yet,” as Mosseri confirms in a response to an Instagram user.

For now, many fans are puzzled on why Instagram is focusing on other features than making the dedicated iPad Instagram app. The company has added some video editing tools and messaging system which is not particularly groundbreaking and new to the users.

For now, fans will have to wait until Instagram releases a dedicated app on the iPad. As many users are fond of editing their posts and pictures, a larger screen sounds great for many Apple users.

While there’s no confirmation of when the iPad Instagram coming soon, the developers are open on making an iPad version of the app. The company just doesn’t see it as a priority.

Potentially, Instagram could work with Apple and reveal the iPad version of the app during the Apple event in March or the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. As Apple is focusing on more on services and software, the iPad version could be one of the few new reveals in these events.
