  • Jon Bon Jovi has admitted that he didn't know what "Sex and the City" was about before his cameo
  • He confessed that he still hasn't watched the show
  • "Friends" and "Game of Thrones" are also part of his "never watched" list

Jon Bon Jovi has made appearances in TV series like "Ally McBeal" and "Sex and the City," but he has yet to watch several iconic shows, including "Friends" and "Game of Thrones."

During a recent interview with SiriusXM's "Andy Cohen Live," the Bon Jovi frontman revealed that he was unaware of "Sex and the City" before he made a guest appearance in Season 2 of the hit series in 1999. Jovi played one of Carrie Bradshaw's (Sarah Jessica Parker) love interests in the romantic comedy show.

"I started taking these episodes of TV shows to get out there and have more people see me to put me in their movies," the 59-year-old rock star shared Monday.

"I didn't know what 'Sex and the City' was. It was the beginning of the second season and I was not caught up on the first one, so I really didn't know the impact that show was gonna have. Now, when I look back, I go, ‘Yeah, I was on Sex and the City,' as if I knew, but I really didn't," he added.

The singer went on to reveal a list of shows he has "never watched" despite their popularity.

"I still never watched the show ['Sex and the City']. I realized I never watched 'Friends.' I never watched 'Sex and the City.' I never watched 'Game of Thrones.' There's so much television. It doesn't mean I didn't like it, it just went over my head and I didn't get around [to] it," he said.

But while Jovi might not be a fan of "Sex and the City," its fanbase remains alive today. Longtime fans of the show were happy to know that it was getting a revival at HBO Max, Variety reported in January.

Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will reprise their roles in the show's new chapter, titled “And Just Like That." It will focus on Carrie, Charlotte York (Davis) and Miranda Hobbes' (Nixon) love lives and friendship as they hit their 50s.

Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original series, will not be returning.

The "Sex and the City" reboot will consist of 10 half-hour episodes. The shoot is expected to begin in New York in late spring. Parker, Nixon and Davis will also executive produce, along with Michael Patrick King.

Giving a glimpse of the revival, Parker shared a teaser on Instagram back in January.

“I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now?” the actress captioned the video that has shots of New York and her voiceover. It also has a computer screen that shows “And just like that…” and “The story continues…” typed out.

The original series “Sex and the City” premiered in 1998. It wrapped up after six seasons in 2004.
