They were also criticized for their tax-funded home, obsession with privacy and just recently, for taking a six-week Christmas leave. Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton were considered the Queen’s saving grace amid this year being considered Her Majesty’s second annus horribilis.

According to Showbiz CheatSheet, there were various reasons why Middleton and Prince William are considered successful. First, they “look the part.” The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have always made sure that they are appropriately dressed for their roles.

In a recent white-tie function at Buckingham Palace, Prince William and Middleton looked perfectly polished. No matter what the event, the pair always shows up in the right look.

Second, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are “proper at all times.” Unlike Prince Harry and Markle who complained about their royal lives in their documentary, the future king and queen have never lashed out in any way.

They have always displayed an impeccable behavior even with the press. When Prince William and Middleton’s special “A Berry Royal Christmas” aired, netizens said that it was a “wonderful contrast” to the Sussexes. One social media user even said that it was how a royal documentary should be done.

Third, Prince William and Middleton are very likable. Both are dedicated to their royal duties as well as raising their family. They also share a glimpse of their relatable lives which many enjoy and love.

The Cambridges’ critics insisted that they copied Prince Harry and Markle who also released a black and white snap for their Christmas e-card. Meanwhile, the Sussexes’ picture sparked controversy, with some saying that it was “photoshopped.”
