Why Mama June, Honey Boo Boo Are Mad At Pumpkin Over Second Pregnancy

Mama June Shannon and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson are mad at Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon after they found out that the latter is pregnant with her second child.

When “Mama June: Road to Redemption” returns this week, fans will get to see the aftermath of Mama June, 41, and Alana, 15, learning about 21-year-old Lauryn’s second pregnancy with her husband Josh Efird, 24.

The pregnancy came as a shock to the mother and daughter since it was not Pumpkin herself who got to disclose the news to them. Instead, it was Mama June’s nemesis, Jennifer Lamb-Thompson, the wife of Honey Boo Boo’s father Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, who spilled the beans, as per TV Season & Spoilers.

Prior to the latest episode, fans might have assumed that Pumpkin chose to confide her pregnancy to Jennifer over her own mom as teasers showed Jennifer claiming this was what had happened. However, it was revealed on the show that Jennifer only discovered Pumpkin’s pregnancy through Sugar Bear, who learned about the matter from Josh.

As shown in the earlier episodes, Josh disclosed his wife’s second pregnancy to Sugar Bear when he asked the latter for a job. Sugar Bear did give him a job as a “weed-eater guy” upon learning about his struggles to find employment. After that, Sugar Bear told Jennifer the news on the condition that she would not tell other people.

However, since Jennifer still has issues with Mama June, she grabbed the opportunity to drop the bombshell to the reality show’s titular star out of spite. As seen in the latest episode, Mama June was fuming at the thought that her own daughter chose to tell someone else first about her pregnancy.

For Pumpkin’s part, she only wanted to keep it a secret from her mom and her younger sister because she did not want Honey Boo Boo to feel like a burden on her, considering that she still has custody over the former “Toddlers and Tiaras” star.

Unfortunately, it looks like Pumpkin will have to suffer the consequences of her decision to keep it secret as both Mama June and Alana are now mad at her, thinking that she chose Jennifer over them. Fans will get to see what’s next for the family when “Road to Redemption” returns this week with an all-new episode.

Meanwhile, Mama June recently took to Instagram to tell fans that the ongoing season still has three episodes left and that they are “not going off TV” anytime soon. She made the statement amid the speculations online that their family’s reality series has come to an end following an interview where she herself insinuated that their careers as reality stars could end soon.
