Why Meghan Markle Is ‘Easy To Blame’ For Royal Family’s Problems

She’s been the focus of several stories since her marriage to Prince Harry last year and is often seen as the root of any alleged problems that have arisen within the royal family since. Now, one royal commentator is claiming that the reason Meghan Markle is seen in such a negative light is that she rubs against the more “traditionalist” society the wrong way.

In an interview with Express UK, Victoria Arbiter discussed how Markle may be getting some unfair criticism because she is “too different” for some people, and it has worked against her when it comes to being accepted as a royal/.

“It’s odd to me. Some people have said as well it is because she is different, and when I say different, she is the first woman of mixed-race heritage to marry into the royal family,” she said. “Some traditionalists have seen that as a problem, so she has been a target. She is seen as someone who is easy to blame if they think things are being done differently.”

Another reason Arbiter said Markle is targeted so often is because many felt that she was going to do things differently because she wasn’t what most people expected when it came to a traditional member of the royal family.

“It is bizarre to me that Meghan has been billed at the modern royal wife, because what are we basing that on?” she said. “As far as I can tell and as far as I am aware, she has not broken any traditions, no protocols, no preferences, she has not shaken anything up, she hasn’t done anything differently.”

“I wonder to some degree, there were some people who just became royal watchers when Meghan entered the family,” she continued. “They were very excited by her because she represented their culture, their heritage. How wonderful that the royal family was bringing in someone that reflected modern society.”

“But I think some of those people perhaps thought, Meghan ‘what a breath of fresh air, she’s going to come in and modernize the monarchy,” she added. “I don’t think Meghan was ever interested in revolutionizing the monarchy. She certainly wants to use her platform for good. She wants to promote the causes that she is particularly interested in, and that is the beauty of being a member of the royal family, you can get stuck in on those causes that matter to you.”

Most recently, Markle has received criticism over her decision to keep the birth of her baby private.
