Although Meghan Markle has enjoyed spending her days with baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the Duchess of Sussex’s maternity leave has come to an end. After giving birth to her son with Prince Harry in May, the former “Suits” star has returned to her royal duties.

In the past, Meghan has prided herself on her dedicated work ethic and ambition. However, those close to the 38-year-old revealed she was hesitant to leave her baby boy once her maternity leave ended.

On Sept. 12, Meghan appeared to be in great spirits while attending the launch of her capsule collection with Smart Works. However, a source told Us Weekly she felt anxious about being away from her son. “Meghan had mixed feelings about going back to work,” the insider explained.

“She loves motherhood and was nervous about leaving Archie,” the confidant added.

While Meghan is busy with work, she will be leaving baby Archie to be taken care of by her mother, Doria Ragland. “They have a great mother-daughter relationship, and FaceTime every day,” the tipster revealed.

The California native will reportedly fly to the UK to babysit her grandson, while Meghan and Prince Harry fulfill their royal duties.

Although Meghan has enjoyed spending time with her baby boy, the source revealed the former actress would have grown tired of maternity leave. “She’s a career girl at heart,” the insider shared.

Despite her conflicted feelings about returning to work full time, the Duchess of Sussex’s nerves were put at ease thanks to Queen Elizabeth. “The queen is very supportive of Meghan’s comeback,” the source revealed.

Meghan’s collection with Smart Works will allow her to bring her love of fashion and women empowerment together for a worthy cause. “Meghan always loved fashion, and as a true feminist, empowering other women is something she really values.”

For each piece that is sold, another will be donated to the nonprofit organization, which provides unemployed women with the tools they need to enter the workforce.
