Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr., has been advised to not contact the Duchess of Sussex even though it is his birthday.

While speaking with Daily Star, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that it is also unlikely for the “Suits” alum to greet her dad on his 75th birthday. The silent treatment is a result of the fact that the former lighting director cannot be trusted.

“One hopes that at some time in the future there may be some possibility or some form of reconciliation but I personally doubt it. Reconciliation is very unlikely… If you talk to the media as he did, I’m afraid that may well cause difficulties foreseeably,” he said.

Fitzwilliams also encouraged Thomas to let things lie at the moment and to not contact Markle even though this could mean that he celebrated his birthday alone. Last year, Thomas also spent his birthday by himself, and he was photographed picking up a Happy Meal at a McDonald’s branch in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Thomas’ ex-wife, Roslyn Markle, previously said that the Duchess of Sussex would be a fool to rekindle her relationship with her dad. The 73-year-old said that her ex-husband cannot be trusted.

“She must know that now. I speak not out of bitterness, my life moved on many years ago, but out of concern… Archie deserves to be brought up in a happy home, not in this vengeful situation that has been created,” she said.

Markle last spoke to her dad via a handwritten letter in August of last year. But months later, Thomas exposed the details in what was supposed to be a private letter between him and his daughter.

After the incident, Thomas has tried reaching out of Markle. He also said that he hopes to meet his grandson, Archie, but his pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Earlier this month, he was snubbed from Archie’s christening, but Doria Ragland attended the private event.
