They had seemed to partially squash rumors they were involved in a rift with some of their public appearances together. However, new stories have surfaced that claim things are worse than ever between Princes Harry and William and Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

Following news that Prince Harry and Markle were officially splitting from the Royal Foundation, which cut off their last major tie to Prince William and Middleton, the news of an alleged rift has once again run rampant, especially since it was previously revealed that the Foundation was likely the thing that would determine whether or not there really was a feud.

“The foundation’s the one to watch,” a royal staff member previously told the Sunday Times (via Express UK). “If it doesn’t hold together, that’s a real sign there’s a problem.”

Initially, the news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were setting up a separate home in Windsor was the thing that made rumors of a rift so rampant.

Biographer Penny Junor previously spoke to Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, who revealed that the plan had always been for the princes to fully work together, which made not only the split but Harry and Meghan’s move, more symbolic of a nasty battle.

In a statement about the charity split, it was said the split came because of a review of the “structure,” but it’s worth noting that Markle likely butts up against her brother-in-law often because she isn’t willing to let him control her image.

“She knows all the tricks, she understands the power of social media, and Harry’s getting into all that because he doesn’t much like traditional media either,” a source previously told Express UK. “So they’re maxing up their standalone brand. William’s going to have to get used to it.”
