Prince Harry’s confession to Jane Goodall about how many kids he would like to have with Meghan Markle surprised many, but now, some royal experts are cautioning that the Duke of Sussex is playing a dangerous game by discussing such a private matter so publicly.

News presenter Jayne Secker revealed on Sky News (via Express UK), that the royal’s admission that he would like to have at least two kids with his wife was not a good move to make, because the two of them could face troubles if they either have trouble conceiving again, or change their minds later and wind up having any potential third pregnancy criticized because they said they would stop after two.

Speaking of the Prince’s interview with Goodall in the September issue of Vogue UK, which his wife co-edited, Secker revealed that when Goodall cautioned the Prince about how many kids he would have due to concerns about a rising world population and he replied they were “hoping for two,” it was a risky move because of several reasons.

“It is interesting because, for one, his brother has had three, so I think it’s dangerous territory stating how many children you are going to have, I think for lots of reasons,” she said.

“For one—you hope they can have more children, lots of people can’t, you just don’t know,” she added. “Also, you just don’t know how you are going to feel until you have had a couple of children. They might decide they want a third, and then where are you?”

The criticism and comment about a second child come as rumors have ramped up about the couple potentially having another baby together. Not only have bookmakers received a flurry of betting odds indicating many feel the couple will even welcome a new baby within the year, but there have also been reports the pair may consider adopting a child from Africa as a way of honoring both their mothers.

“Both Harry and Meghan were deeply moved when they visited an orphanage there,” a source previously told Radar Online. “They vowed to each other that they would go back and give one of those children a home. Harry adopting a child from Africa would be the ultimate tribute he could pay to his mother, Princess Diana, who made it her mission to help kids in Angola. And Meghan, who is of mixed race, feels it honors the heritage of her mother, Doria, who is black.”
