Prince Philip deliberately snubbed Prince Charles after Prince Harry’s birth.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Markle celebrated their son Archie’s baptism on Saturday. Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton were present at the event.

According to Anna Kretschmer, when Prince Harry was born, Prince Philip made a deliberate snub to Prince Charles by not visiting him immediately. The Duke of Edinburgh waited weeks to see his new grandson.

According to Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, the public’s intense interest in Princess Diana allowed Prince Charles to take a step back from the spotlight. However, Prince Philip wasn’t pleased with the heir’s decision to break from the pressures of life.

“Relations between father and son these days are so strained that when Prince Charles walks into a room Prince Philip walks out of it,” Brown wrote.

“He expressed his displeasure by not visiting Prince Harry until six weeks after the birth. This suits Prince Charles, who is indulging in the luxury of being himself.”

Last weekend, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were not present at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby baptism. The 98-year-old senior royal already retired and rarely appears at any royal event.

Meanwhile, the Queen didn’t make it because she already planned her weekend and it was reportedly Prince Harry and Markle’s fault because they set a date without checking the other royals’ calendar.

They originally set Archie’s baptism on Friday and later found out that both Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles couldn’t make it, so they rescheduled it to Saturday to at least accommodate the Prince of Wales. According to a source, the couple was not accommodating to the Queen.

“Her Majesty was already scheduled to be in Scotland for her annual Holyrood Week and had a prior engagement at the weekend,” an insider said. “There is a feeling amongst some that they should have been more accommodating about the date.”

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who were present at Archie’s baptism reportedly showed signs of stress. According to a body language expert, Prince William and Middleton were “unusually stiff.”
