Why Prince William And Kate Middleton’s Children Will Begin Attending Royal Engagements
Prince William and Kate Middleton will continue fulfilling their royal duties, but when 2021 rolls around, the couple plans to have Prince George and Princess Charlotte by their side more often.
Kate and William, who have enjoyed spending more time with their kids amid the coronavirus pandemic, has noticed a change, and a source told Us Weekly the couple believes their eldest children are ready to begin attending more royal engagements. As such, the pair plan to bring them along more often, as long as their schooling remains unaffected.
“William and Kate have loved watching Prince George and Princess Charlotte grow and develop over the last year,” the insider explained.
“They have both grown up so much and are little people now rather than kids.”
Prince George, 7, and Princess Charlotte, 5, made their red carpet debut earlier this month at a special performance of The National Lottery’s Pantoland, which was an event to thank frontline workers.
During the event, the children appeared to be in great spirits. Although George and Charlotte stuck close to their parents while walking the red carpet at The Palladium, once inside of the venue, they were pictured whispering and laughing.
In the BBC documentary “Football, Prince William and Mental Health” earlier this year, the Duke of Cambridge reflected on some of the challenges of homeschooling his children.
“You start to worry about how little you remember from your school days when you can’t do the math questions at home,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a different interview at the time, Kate admitted that she continued homeschooling the children despite the Easter holiday. “Don’t tell the children, we’ve actually kept it going through the holidays,” the Duchess of Cambridge confessed. “I feel very mean!”
For now, the couple is focused on helping their children enjoy the holiday season. “It’s their favorite time of year,” a source previously told the publication.
