Princess Beatrice’s 30th birthday on Aug. 8 will be extra special for her because it will take place right before she becomes Princess Eugenie’s maid of honor.

Rebecca Perring, a journalist for Express, noted that this will be Princess Beatrice’s last birthday before she receives the sweet role from her younger sister. Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will tie the knot on Oct. 12 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

The journalist also called the role of maid of honor as a milestone for Princess Beatrice because she is her sister’s first and only choice for the part. When Princess Beatrice weds in the future, Princess Eugenie will most likely be her chief bridesmaid or matron of honor.

Following her 30th birthday bash, Princess Beatrice is expected to have a busy year ahead. Even though she is not considered a working royal, Princess Beatrice is actively involved in the causes that are close to her heart. She also works for Afiniti, an artificial intelligence company that makes software for call centers.

In related news, Princess Eugenie is not also considered a working royal. The 28-year-old princess works as the director for Hauser & Wirth, a contemporary art gallery in Mayfair, London. She started working for the company in 2015 as an associate director. Two years later, she received a promoting from Hauser & Wirth.

During their recent interview with British Vogue, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie said that despite their royal titles, they are just like any other normal siblings.

“We are the first: we are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses and doing all of this in the public eye. We want to show people who we are as working, young, royal women, but also not to be afraid of putting ourselves out there,” Princess Eugenie said.
