Princess Diana would have survived the car crash if it happened today.

The late Princess of Wales died in a tragic automobile accident. Many were surprised at the royal’s sudden death. However, according to Julia Mullaney, Princess Diana would have survived the car accident if it happened today.

Mullaney pointed out several factors that would have increased the survival rate of Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom. First, drinking and driving has become less common today than in the past.

It was revealed that Henri Paul, the driver, was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol during the accident. According to the European Transport Safety Council, road deaths attributed to alcohol declined by 46 percent between 2006 and 2016. Thus, it is safe to assume that the percentage of decline is even higher between from 1997 to 2016. So, Princess Diana’s driver would have been far less inclined to drive under the influence.

Also, cars today are built with more safety features than those developed over two decades ago. Over the years, more and more safety features are added in automobiles to boost sales. Blind spot sensors, automatic front and rear breaking, speed monitors and strict seat belt alarms have been implemented. According to previous reports, impaired driving, speed and a lack of seat belt were among the factors that contributed to Princess Diana’s death.

In addition, Princess Diana’s car accident might have been prevented if she were in the same situation today. At present, people have become increasingly concerned with impaired driving and vehicle safety. If all the factors that played into the royal’s death have been avoided using the safety features aforementioned, Princess Diana might have lived.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell revealed that Princess Diana suspected Prince Charles of plotting to kill her. According to the late Princess of Wales, the future king wanted her dead so he could remarry.

Prior to Princess Diana’s automobile accident, she made an interview with Panorama where she revealed her troubled marriage with Prince Charles. According to a netizen, Prince William and Prince Harry have already forgiven their father. However, the Duke of Cambridge couldn’t forgive his mom for airing their dirty laundry in public in her controversial interview.
