Why Sherée Whitfield Quit ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ And Won’t Marry Boyfriend
Even though Sherée Whitfield will not be featured on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 11, it isn’t going to stop her from sharing juicy gossip and updating fans about her love life.
The last time “RHOA” viewers saw Sherée, she was in a relationship with Tyrone Gilliams, who is currently incarcerated in prison. Despite receiving plenty of camera time during Season 10, rumors began to circulate that the star was fired from the Bravo reality series.
Although Sherée initially denied being given the boot, she recently explained why she really quit the long-running show. During an interview with Us Weekly, the reality star revealed she decided to leave after she was asked to return as a friend, rather than as a main cast member.
“At first I thought it was a big slap in the face when I was asked that question and I immediately said ‘No, I am not interested in doing that,” she said.
“Then I thought about it and I was like, ‘You know what being the friend means less stress, it was less chaotic, it was a lot less to deal with.’ It was definitely better for your peace of mind. Then I thought [about it] again and was like ‘I am an original, I have already done that and when they sent over the paperwork, it was like a slap in the face.’”
Along with saying goodbye to the “RHOA,” Sherée also realized her relationship with Tyrone won’t be moving to the next level as quickly as she had hoped. The Penn alum was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of stealing $5 million through wire frauds.
“I mean he would love to marry me right now, but I am not marrying someone who is in prison. I am keeping my options open,” Sherée explained.
Although she admits there is something special about Tyrone, she stated there is no guarantee they will end up together. “I meet people all the time and the crazy thing is, no one has been able to hold my attention or grab it. No one has been able to get in my mind and my head,” Sherée shared.
“He is still around, but I say at the same time, I love him and I have said it before, if he comes home and I am still available and everything is great, what he is doing and what he says he is going to do, then absolutely I can see a future,” she added.
As for her what’s next for Sherée, the star is looking forward to being free of reality tv drama. “I am just not interested in being a puppet on a show for season 11. I feel like there are a lot of puppets on there and a lot of people were willing to be a puppet, that has just never been me or my character.”
Bravo has not announced a premiere date for “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 11.
