Why The ‘Sister Wives’ Have Not Yet Built On Coyote Pass
They bought their big Coyote Pass property in Flagstaff and moved their family to the Arizona city in 2018, but to date, it appears the “Sister Wives” family has yet to build on the land, despite stating it was supposed to be used for their new homes.
The most recent look at the family’s property, which is expected to be the site of four future homes for each wife, came from Meri, who shared a photo of the land on her Instagram last weekend, referencing her initial preference to buy a different land parcel when they first started looking in Flagstaff.
However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the land still didn’t appear to have anything built on it, which led to some questioning Kody Brown’s first wife, asking if they were ever going to live there—and even asking her if she really planned to live there when she no longer seemed to have a role in the family.
“Are you going to have a house built there. It seems that you don’t really have anything in common with the rest of family,” one asked.
This isn’t the first time fans have been curious about the fate of the property, which was a hot topic during the most recent season of the family’s TLC show, as Kody tried to convince his wives to al live in one large house with separate wings, versus four different dwellings. In the end, they shot down the idea and it was decided that the home would all be separate ones.
The idea of building homes was referenced again when Robyn was being forced out of her rental property and became hesitant to buy a new property when she struggled to find a new rental. At the time, she expressed that she felt buying a new home would delay building on Coyote Pass, but as fans know, she and Kody did wind up purchasing a property. To date, she and Christine both own houses in Flagstaff outside of Coyote Pass, while Meri and Janelle both rent.
It appears the family has been struggling financially since their initial move, which could be why they have yet to build on the land. In addition to falling behind on tax payments on Coyote Pass last year, Kody and Robyn took out a $150,000 home equity line of credit in March of this year.
The lack of building on the land, as well as recent policy change in Utah, has even led to some fans to speculate that the family will actually sell everything in Flagstaff soon and head back to their initial state of residence. The family has not spoken out about what is happening with Coyote Pass, but Kody did previously reveal his thoughts on moving back to Utah.
