Why 'Teen Mom' Alum Jenelle Evans And David Eason Owe Over $46K Amid Split

As if they didn't already have enough legal woes, Jenelle Evans and David Eason have been slapped with a tax lien.

The former MTV "Teen Mom 2" couple owes a whopping $46,406.70 to the state of North Carolina for the year 2017, according to The Sun, who confirmed the news with a state clerk. They were hit with the lien on June 1.

News of the tax debt comes amid Jenelle announcing that she was going to split from her estranged husband (again) after he was arrested twice in one weekend. Once for missing a court date, another for "assault with a deadly weapon along with a second charge of communicative threats" after he reportedly pistol-whipped Jenelle's friend.

Following the altercation, the 28-year-old reality star told a media outlet, "I'm shaking and saddened by this, its time for me to move on from this relationship and find happiness for my kids and myself elsewhere."

Jenelle followed-up with a message on her personal Facebook page to let everyone know that they may not hear from her for a while as she deals with the situation at hand.

"I just want to let the public, tabloids, and my fans know that IM OK, IM SAFE AND SO ARE THE KIDS!" she wrote. "I'm going to take a few days out to myself to gather my thoughts and focus on what's going on so I won't be on social media much," she added. "I love you all for the support that you all have shown me and I'll be stronger and better than ever soon!"

Legal woes and relationship drama seem to be the norm for Jenelle and David's rollercoaster of a relationship. Within the last year, they have gone from lovey-dovey couple to fighting and back again. In October, the mother of three announced her plans to divorce David only to reunite with him a few months later. That was after she filed and received a restraining order against him and detailed almost a dozen different instances of abuse.

While it seems the current status of their romantic relationship is nonexistent it's only a matter of time before fans know whether this couple will decide to try and work things out (again) or call it quits for good (again). However, they likely won't be able to do a clean break from each other because they share a 3-year-old daughter, Ensley.

Jenelle also has two sons from previous relationships, 10-year-old Jace and 5-year-old Kaiser, while David has another daughter from a prior relationship.
