Why 'Vanderpump Rules’ Alum Stassi Schroeder Stayed Quiet After Being Fired By Bravo

“Vanderpump Rules” alum Stassi Schroeder has remained unusually quiet ever since Bravo fired her in June for making racially insensitive comments. However, on Thursday, the 32-year-old broke her silence following the scandal.

Schroeder, who is expecting a baby girl with fiancé Beau Clark, made an appearance on the “Tamron Hall” show to address her silence and reflect on her mistakes.

The former Bravo reality star told Hall that she wanted to educate herself before speaking out to avoid making the same mistake.

“I needed time to process my feelings. I needed time to process what happened. I feel like one of the most frustrating parts when this all went down was that people expected me to just understand immediately, and things like that take time,” she said, as reported by People.

“I felt like it would be better for me to get a greater understanding of everything and the issue before I opened my mouth again.”

The network fired Schroeder and fellow “Vanderpump Rules” star Kristen Doute after their former cast member Faith Stowers revealed the two had reported her to the police for a crime she didn’t commit.

During an Instagram Live session, Stowers revealed that the incident, which took place in 2018, was a result of Schroeder and Doute seeing “a black woman with a weave” and assuming it was her.

After being fired from the show, Schroeder began working with someone, who has been helping her to understand the error of her ways. The reality star admitted that she now realizes her decision was unacceptable.

“I’ve never felt like I was racist. I don’t have hate in my heart. But I’ve recognized that I wasn’t anti-racist. I wasn’t. That’s something that I’ve been learning throughout all of this."

Ultimately, Schroeder wants to teach her daughter the importance of understanding different cultures and is hoping to use her podcast “Straight Up With Stassi” to make a difference.
