Rumors that Will Ferrell will Replace the outgoing Steve Carrell on 'The Office are not likely, one cast member says.

Ferrell is appearing on the last four episodes of the show's season. They have already been filmed

I don't think the 20 million he makes per movie is going to allow him to do that, said Rainn Wilson, who plays the character Dwight Schrute on the program, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Schrute called Ferrell the coolest guy. Ferrell called the show's producers and offered help for the program after Carrell said he would not renew his contract, letting it expire. They suggested four shows and Ferrell accepted, he said.
