The iconic “Will & Grace” foursome are indeed back!

Better grab your tissues because tears of laughter will be flowing during the sitcom’s return episode on NBC on Thursday. It might be the show’s ninth season, but it’s its first in 11 years. Hence why the Season 9 premiere episode is appropriately titled, “11 Years Later.”

“We pick up with Will (Eric McCormack), Grace (Debra Messing), Jack (Sean Hayes), and Karen (Megan Mullally) 11 years since we last saw them,” according to the official synopsis. “Will and Grace both falter when their political beliefs are put to the test. Jack and Karen help Will and Grace hide their secret shame from each other, but the truth finally comes out.”

The truth always comes out, especially on “Will & Grace,” but at least it usually comes with a comedic twist and often, a heartfelt moment.

As the series picks up 11 years after fans last saw Will, Grace, Jack and Karen, there will likely be a lot to catch up with. While the characters seem just as crazy and interesting and exciting as they always have been, not everything can remain unchanged in over a decade of being away.

This first season of the show’s revival will be 12 episodes long and will air fully during the 2017-18 season. But if that number of episodes already has you getting sad, don’t let it as the show has already been renewed for yet another season, even before this one officially begins.

NBC must see all of the excitement that’s already bursting around the news of the revival and realize what greatness they have on their hands.

“We’re thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back,” said NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt in a statement. “This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary — all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture — is coming back where it belongs.”

The fact that the original series creators, Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, are back for the new season and will act as showrunners and executive producers is also very helpful for the show’s future and continue success.

“Dave and I are absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to write what Will, Grace, Jack and Karen are thinking about in 2017,” said Mutchnick in a press release.

And while the creators are on board, so is director James Burrows, who directed every episode of the show during its initial run. He is set to both direct and executive produce new episodes of the sitcom.

If you’re new to the show and want to join in on the fun since everyone is talking about it, you can either just jump right in when “Will & Grace” returns on Thursday, or you can start playing catch-up.

It’s a lot of episodes, 194 to be exact, to watch, but you’ll be laughing your way through all of them. Not to mention it is a lot easier to watch them all now because, as of Sept. 21, all the episodes of the series are available to stream, for the first time ever, on the NBC app and on Hulu. Hulu will be the exclusive SVOD partner for the original eight seasons.

After you’re all caught up, and after you watch the new episodes, there will still be more “Will & Grace” fun to be had, as there will be an after show for the first six episodes of the season.

“Will & Grace After Party” is the after show of the series and will be available Friday mornings on the NBC app, the “Will & Grace” social accounts and E! platforms.

But first, the “Will & Grace” revival begins with its technically Season 9 premiere on NBC on Thursday at 9 p.m. EDT.
