Will Jughead Jones’ Mom Be Cast In ‘Riverdale’ Season 2 Soon?
Jughead Jones’ (Cole Sprouse) mom has been mentioned in “Riverdale” multiple times, but she has not yet been introduced in the hit The CW series.
In the coming episodes or seasons, fans hope that Jughead will be reunited with his mom and sister, Jelly Bean. While speaking with TV Line, Skeet Ulrich, who plays the role of Jughead’s dad, FP, named which actress he wants to play the role of Jughead’s mom.
“I mean, God, I think Neve Campbell would be really interesting. I know she’s busy doing some films and stuff like that, so I don’t know if that’s a possibility. But yeah, I think she’d be very interesting,” he said.
Ulrich and Campbell starred in the 1996 film, “Scream,” and there are speculations that the actress may indeed play the role of Ulrich’s TV wife because of their previous working relationship.
“Riverdale” introduced Luke Perry and Molly Ringwald as Archie Andrew’s (KJ Apa) parents, Fred and Mary, respectively. Perry and Ringwald worked together on “Twin Peaks.” The two actors also starred in the same series with Madchen Amick, who currently plays the role of Betty Cooper’s (Lili Reinhart) mom, Alice.
Unfortunately, nothing has been confirmed yet by The CW or by “Riverdale” executive producer Alberto Aguirre-Sacasa regarding the casting of Campbell. Ulrich also has no idea whether or not Jughead’s mom will be introduced in Season 2 or ever in the show.
FP and Jughead’s mom don’t have an amicable relationship with each other. She moved to Toledo before the events in “Riverdale” Season 1 took place. She is raising Jughead’s younger sister, Jelly Bean, while Jughead was left with his dad.
Meanwhile, TV Line also noted that Campbell may have free time at the moment because her LeAnn Harvey role in “House of Cards” just got killed off last season.
Unfortunately, fans of “Riverdale” still need to wait to find out whether or not Jughead’s mom will be introduced in the series. “Riverdale” is currently on a midseason break and will return with new episodes starting January 2018.
