Will Karrueche Tran Date Chris Brown Again? Rihanna Love Triangle And Breakup History Explained
Questions about whether model Karrueche Tran would reconnect with her ex-boyfriend, “Loyal” singer Chris Brown, circulated Tuesday after he “liked” one of her Instagram pictures. Even though Tran seemed like moved passed Brown, the couple has a complicated history. They were on-again and of-again for years, until Brown finally left him in March 2015 after he fathered a love child, daughter Royalty, with Nia Guzman.
After the recent drama, here’s a look back at their dating history and ultimate breakup.
They couple first got together in early 2012 while there were still rumors he was with “Work” singer Rihanna. Months later, he dumped Tran over the Barbadian beauty. “I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna,” he said at the time, according to TMZ. “I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna.” He added: “I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives.”
Tran reportedly didn’t buy that Brown and Rihanna were “just friends.” She accused him of sleeping with Rihanna behind her back, but by May 2013 they were together again.
Nearly a year later, she dumped him. At the time, Brown was in rehab and she supposedly saw that he was texting other women inappropriate messages while he was at the facility.
In the next months that followed, the couple was on-again, off-again all the time. The final straw for Tran was when she discovered Brown had a baby that was 9 months old. “Listen. One can only take so much. The best of luck to Chris and his family,” she wrote in March 2015. “No baby drama for me.”
The model then did an interview with life coach Iyanla Vanzant. She opened up about her tumultuous relationship with Brown. “I still love him,” she said at the time. “If he were to change, we’d be in a better place. But that’s the problem.”
