Harambe
Is there still hope for a Harambe Pokémon to be in "Pokémon Sun and Moon"? Change.org

A petition to make a Harambe Pokémon has gone viral that it got almost 35,000 signatures just two days after it was launched. If the pace keeps up for this petition, can “Pokémon Sun and Moom” fans expect to see Harambe when the two RPGs arrive on the Nintendo 3DS this November?

Change.org user Eric CreamyMemes launched an online petition, titled “Make Harambe a Pokémon,” on Wednesday. In his request, Eric stated that he is asking Nintendo and The Pokémon Company to create a Pokémon in honor of the slain gorilla.

“Harambe deserves to live on forever in our hearts. Support this petition if you want Harambe to become a Pokémon,” Eric wrote in his petition, which also includes a mockup of what Harambe would look like if he were a Pokémon. The mockup Eric posted also included another Pokémon named Hambo, who is going to be the base form Pokémon of Harambe. Both pocket monsters are requested to have Meat Shield abilities.

According to The Verge, the mockup Eric posted used the unofficial Pokémon presented in the 4chan-made Pokémon Sage. The original names of the two are Simayan and Monkezuma. Both unofficial Pokémon were initially presented to be Fighting-type Pokémon. However, unlike Hambo and Harambe, Simayan and Monkezuma are evolved forms of another Pokémon called Chimpoca.

Though the petition is getting a lot of attention online, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have yet to accept the request and confirm that they are adding Hambo and Harambe into the upcoming RPGs.

The viral petition comes amid leaks and the release of the new “Pokémon Sun and Moon” trailer. On Thursday, the Japanese trailer was leaked online, revealing ahead of the trailer’s official premiere new Pokémon Wishiwashi, Pyukumuku and Morelull, as well as the Alola forms of Meowth, Raichu and Marowak.

Earlier today, Nintendo took to its official news site to reveal more details about the new Pokémon and new Alola forms. Team Skull, the villain organization in “Pokémon Sun” and “Pokémon Moon” was also discussed in the post. According to Tech Crunch, Team Skull, led by Guzma and Plumeria, could be described as a team that is up to no good.
