Will This Popular ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fan Theory About Jon Snow Not Happen In Season 7?
There’s been several theories about how the anticipated reunions and first meetings of several “Game of Thrones” characters in season 7 would unfold, but a popular one about Jon Snow may have just been denied by the actor who portrays the character.
In a new interview with Us Weekly, Kit Harington discussed the upcoming season and the different things that effect Jon Snow, the newly-minted King of the North, One of the things he revealed was that his character was not only not going to get a love interest in the new season, but never again in the HBO series.

“No, Ygritte (Rose Leslie) is the only woman for Jon,” he said when asked. “There will be no one else.”
Fans recall that Jon’s Wilding lover died during the fight at Castle Black in Season 4, after Olly (Brenock O'Connor) shot an arrow through her heart. Since then, he has had no other love interests, and seems to have hinted now that he still won’t have one—which puts a big damper on a theory that fans have been very intrigued by for some time.
A popular fan theory plays off the title of George R.R. Martin’s entire book series, and is appropriately called the “A Song of Ice and Fire” theory. The theory indicates that “Ice,” a.k.a. Jon Snow, and “Fire,” a.k.a Daenerys, could come together in a romantic way, despite actually being Aunt and Nephew, now that R+L=J has officially been confirmed on the show. The Targaryen bloodline they both share doesn’t frown upon incestuous relationships, and if it were to happen, theirs certainly wouldn’t be the first to happen on the show.
To seemingly back up the theory, fans have used a video shot by an observer as the new season filmed, which shows Jon and Dany meeting. The video shows the two having a discussion on the side of a cliff in an undisclosed location. It’s unclear what they are talking about, but it does appear to be a serious topic.

However, Harington’s new interview seems to indicate that the theory isn’t something that will come to fruition, and will only be something concocted by fans. If that is the case, it would be interesting to see how the two characters do in fact interact, especially whenever they learn how they’re related.
In the interview, Harington also discussed how Jon would take learning the truth about his identity (he has always believed he was the illegitimate son of Ned Stark, but is actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark). Surprisingly, he admitted he doesn’t think Jon would really care about his true identity in the end.
“Jon is quite hard to shock. Think of what this man has been through. He’s seen a Night King raise a horde of dead men 100,000 strong, and he’s come back to life himself,” he said. “As far as finding out his true identity, if he has one, it’s low on the list of things he’s looking to find out.”
“Game of Thrones” Season 7 premieres Sunday, July 16 ay 9 p.m. on HBO.
