Will There Be A ‘Good Trouble’ Season 2? Renewal, Air Date Details
After “The Fosters” ended, fans got to see more of Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) with Freeform’s spinoff series, “Good Trouble.” With the Season 1 finale ending tonight, will that be the end of their story?
Of course not. These characters don’t give up that easily, and neither does their show. Freeform President Tom Ascheim surprised the “Good Trouble” cast with the Season 2 renewal news at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in February.
And, two months later, the first season of the series is coming to an end with, per usual, a dramatic finale.
“Jamal’s [Spence Moore II] trial begins, along with the Black Lives Matter protest Malika [Zuri Adele] has organized, leaving Callie in a difficult position knowing she has information that could help Jamal's lawyers,” the synopsis reveals. “Mariana gets some new information about the salaries at Spekulate from an unlikely ally, forcing her to make a decision about whether or not to release the spreadsheet outlining the pay gap. Meanwhile, Sumi’s [Kara Wang] wedding day is here, and it's time for Alice [Sherry Cola] to face her emotions head-on.”
Lucky for fans, the wait between Seasons 1 and 2 won’t even be that long.
Freeform announced at its Second Annual Summit last month that the show will come back in just a couple of months on June 18 at 8 p.m. EDT., and its digital aftershow, “The Trouble With,” will be returning right along with it.
In the meantime, catch the Season 1 finale of “Good Trouble” tonight on Freeform at 8 p.m. EDT.
