Winnie The Pooh And Tigger Might Be In 'Kingdom Hearts 3'
While “Kingdom Hearts 3” still has no release date, it looks like a pair of familiar characters will be returning to the fan-favorite series. Winnie the Pooh and Tigger are the latest characters to be rumored for the third installment of the action roleplaying game (RPG), and the evidence supporting it is fairly strong.
According to KH Insider, the rumors started when Pooh and Tigger voice actor Jim Cummings stated that they would be in the game during an autograph session. The veteran has voiced the characters in previous installments of the game as well, and has actually worked with Disney many times before, so fans were excited.
Adding even more fuel to the fire was when Cummings appeared in a conference. According to Gaming Bolt, the voice actor stated that doing the voices of certain characters in Japanese was difficult, “but voicing Tigger in this manner was fun.”
Pooh, Tigger and the rest of the cast from the Hundred Acre Wood appeared in the first game. It was the lightest world in the game, literally taking place in a magic book. Sora had to rebuild the world by finding the other pages, bringing the characters back to the world. There were no Heartless at all in the Hundred Acre Wood.
So far, the only Disney characters that have been confirmed are Donald, Goofy and the cast of “Big Hero 6.” Since the movie was based on Marvel comic books, this is technically the first time Marvel characters have appeared in the world of “Kingdom Hearts.”
Gamers might not be too thrilled should Pooh and Tigger be official for the game, but their appearances could add some levity to the RPG. The most recent trailer teased some dark events for Sora and his friends, though it’s doubtful that it will be too dark.
“Kingdom Hearts 3” still has no release date, and probably won’t be debuting this year. In the meantime, fans can get the rest of the backstory in “Kingdom Hearts 2.8,” which does come out this year. This will supposedly be the prologue for the third chapter of the series, which fans cannot wait for.
