Hallmark Channel’s kicking off Winterfest 2019 on Saturday with the premiere of “Winter Castle,” starring “Chesapeake Shores” actress Emilie Ullerup and “When Calls the Heart” newcomer Kevin McGarry.

Ullerup recently starred in Hallmark Movie & Mysteries’ holiday flick “Christmas Bells Are Ringing,” while McGarry’s last Hallmark film was 2017’s “A Song for Christmas.” He’s making up for not having one in 2018, though, by starring in two movies during the Winterfest event. This is his first, and he has “Winter Love Story” with Jen Lilley in a couple weeks.

This time around, it’s all about love at an ice hotel.

“Born and raised in sunny California, Jenny (Ullerup) is thrilled when her sister Meg (Melanie Mullen) decides to have a destination wedding at an ice hotel,” the synopsis begins. “Having never attended a frosty wedding, Jenny is excited to sign up for the full experience. Meg is just as excited to set up Jenny with the handsome best man, Craig (McGarry), whom she’s convinced is perfect for her. Jenny is immediately entranced by the magical décor of the ice hotel and also finds herself instantly smitten with Craig.

The synopsis continues: “But when his ‘plus one,’ Lana (Meghan Heffern) unexpectedly shows up, Jenny’s hopes for a wintery romance quickly melt. As the pre-wedding festivities unfold and their wedding party duties throw her and Craig together the connection between them can’t be denied.”

The two get to spend more time with each other when Lana realizes she hates the freezing temperatures and tries to keep herself tucked away in warmth, especially since she’s fighting off a cold. Now really paired up for the wedding, Jenny and Craig might just find the romance they’ve been looking for.

“Winter Castle” premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST.
