KEY POINTS
- Fans are looking forward to a new "The Witcher" game
- CD Projekt Red said it is not working on any "The Witcher" game now
- CDPR held a conference call in relation to the delay of "Cyberpunk 2077"
The production of "The Witcher" on the video streaming service Netflix introduced the popular game personality to the world, not only to gamers. People are now buying books under "The Witcher" series penned by Andrzej Sapkowski. CD Projekt Red's "The Witcher 3" is a massive success and was recently launched on Nintendo Switch, making the game available on almost all gaming platforms.
Because of this, rumors of a new "The Witcher" game started to make rounds lately. However, it appears that CD Projekt Red is not making any AAA projects anytime soon. Recently game developer CD Projekt Red hosted a conference call and Q & A associated with the delay of "Cyberpunk 2077."
In one portion, the game developer was asked if it is working on any games. One AAA project, the caliber of "Cyberpunk 2077," is in the works, according to CD Projekt Red Senior VP of Business Development Michal Nowakowski. The executive may be referring to the multiplayer of "Cyberpunk 2077."
But, Nowakowski's answer left room for the possibility of a non-AAA "The Witcher" game, according to Gamerant. The site considers the potential of a smaller game currently in the works at the CD Projekt Red's studio. But, like all other game developers, CD Projekt Red would not reveal something it is working on, at least at the early development stage.
Meanwhile, following the release of the hit TV series "The Witcher" on Netflix, the game "The Witcher 3" created by CD Projekt Red reached an all-time player record on Steam. The popular role-playing title was released four years ago, but earlier this month its hit an all-time concurrent player record of 102,000 players on Steam.
CD Projekt Red is the game developer behind the popular hit game "The Witcher 3" and the upcoming sci-fi title "Cyberpunk 2077." "The Witcher 3" is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, the "Cyberpunk 2077" release has been delayed. It is anticipated to arrive in September 2020.
We will keep you updated on the latest news and updates on the next "The Witcher" game as soon as we hear interesting news.
