A woman reportedly stabbed her 61-year-old partner to death after a domestic-related argument in Florida. She walked out of her home as cops arrived with her hands raised, covered in blood, and confessed to the stabbing and said, "Take me to jail."

Port Orange police responded to a 911 call from the couple's daughter at the family home on Calistoga Circle Wednesday night. Upon reaching the house, cops found the victim, John Redshaw with a stab wound, WFTV reported.

Police learned that the suspect, 55-year-old Brenda Thomas and her partner got into a fight after returning home from a bar. Thomas claimed Redshaw "tried to choke her," the police said in its report, according to Wesh.

The adult daughter told police her parents had an argument in their bedroom which started after the father told the mother he planned on returning to the bar the next night without her.

Thomas allegedly stabbed Redshaw following the argument. He was taken to a hospital in Daytona Beach where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police report said the accused walked out of the garage with her blood-covered hands in the air and said, "It's me. I'm the bad person. I stabbed him in the chest. Take me to jail."

While Thomas claimed Redshaw tried to choke her, police found only a cut on her finger. Furthermore, their daughter claimed that one of her father's arms was paralyzed after a motorcycle accident years ago.

During the investigation, police recovered the murder weapon, a kitchen knife, in the home. Thomas was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder, ClickOrlando reported.

Neighbor Debbie Darino said the family moved into the area about a year ago and there were no issues that she was aware of.

"Just very friendly. Never saw any problems over there," neighbor Debbie Darino said, as per Wesh. "Very heartbreaking because you never know what goes on behind closed doors. I would never in a million years have thought this would happen."

Thomas was appointed a public defender by the judge to represent her and was held without bond. "I'm going to order that you be held without bond due to the seriousness of the charge," the judge said during a court proceeding Thursday.
