A woman was charged Tuesday for confining a 13-year-old boy to her home and burning his genitals with hot tongs for resisting sexual advances in Indian city of Noida, police said. The woman was absconding after the incident.

The teen's mother said the woman was from their neighbourhood and had made sexual advances repeatedly.

"The married woman, apparently in her late 20s, had lured the boy to her house in the afternoon last Friday when she was alone there," police said, News 18 reported.

The woman has been charged with hurting the boy with a weapon, wrongful confinement, kidnapping and criminal intimidation. She has also been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

"The police are investigating the matter from all angles. The delay in approaching the police leaves several questions unanswered,” police said.

In a similar incident Tuesday, a 40-year-old watchman was charged with killing a woman after she resisted sex with him and his friend in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The body of the deceased was found near a vacant house Saturday.

During the interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and said he along with his friend killed the woman after she objected to establish physical relations with both of them. The other accused was still absconding.

In another incident in April, a 21-year-old man was booked for kidnapping and killing a seven-year-old boy after he resisted his attempts to sexually assault him in Delhi, India.

A missing case was registered, and during investigation it was revealed the missing child was last seen with the accused. The man, who was on the run then, was traced at his brother-in-law's house.

"During interrogation, Sandeep Singh (accused) confessed to kidnapping and murdering the boy when he resisted his attempt to sexually assault him," a senior officer said, local channel NDTV reported. He then led the police to the body.

The man was charged with murder under the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the POCSO Act.

POSCO act was established in India in 2012 to protect children against offences like sexual abuse, sexual harassment and pornography. The act defines a child as any person below eighteen years of age and also mentions different forms of sexual abuse which includes penetrative and non-penetrative assault. The act makes it mandatory to report such cases and also provides for punishment against false complaints or untrue information.
