Woman Demands For Male Worker At Car Dealership: "I Do Not Want A Female"

The surprising reaction of a woman, speaking to a car dealership employee, led to the internet giving back an unsurprising reaction by slamming her for her sexist remarks. The woman had phoned the car dealership to make an appointment to have her oil changed; however, she refused service when she heard a woman’s voice and now finds her conversation viral on the internet.

The video of the appalling conversation was posted on TikTok on Dec. 19 by user, @5centrayray, or Rachel, who works at the same dealership as a service advisor, according to Daily Dot. The clip, which racked up more than 1.5 million views, shows an employee introducing herself as Autumn to the customer.

“Autumn, I didn’t ask for a female,” the customer said, “I’d like to talk to a male. My opinion is females don’t belong in a service department, they belong behind the scenes doing the paperwork.”

“Um, okay. There’s not a male in our service department,” Autumn replied.

The clip explained that all the service staff, who are the points of contact between the customers and the car dealership, are all female workers. After demanding to speak to a male worker, the woman got in touch with the sales department but found no help there.

“She gets no where [sic] with the male she requested because he is in sales so she calls back…” the video said.

Once again, the customer was back on the phone with Autumn and asked for an appointment to get her oil changed.

“I just hope there are no females on the desk when I get there,” said the infuriating customer.

In the background of the video, a voice could be heard declaring, “There will be,” according to CengNews.

“As long as there is a male in the shop to change my oil, that would be fine,” said the infuriating customer. “I do not want a female working on my car.”

When the owner of the car dealership later saw the video, he was “shocked and outraged” over the woman’s demands.

“Female’s [sic] in our dealership are treated with equal opportunities,” said the text that appeared in the video. “Our service director fired her as a customer. Bye bye Karen!”

Many social media users were baffled by the customer for belittling female employees.

“I would have said ‘I completely understand mam [sic], can I speak to the man of the house to confirm what you are saying is correct?'” said one TikTok user while another said, “As a female mechanic im [sic] livid.”

“Before hаving my dаughter, I worked аs а femаle mechаnic for yeаrs,” said one user. “Men аnd women hаd never shown me more disrespect in my life. I wаs аlso one of the shop’s few certified techniciаns. It wаs only customers of vаrious аges who were present. People would be stаtioned аt the fаr end of my bаy, keeping а constаnt eye on me. It wаs extremely unsettling.”
