Woman Shot Husband Over Mystery Call On Valentine's Day
A woman shot her husband after an argument over a call he received. The incident took place in Kalasin, Thailand, on Friday.
Mayura, 44, had gone out with her husband, Ratthasat, for a dinner Friday during which she asked him about a call that he received the previous night, which was Valentine’s Day. He tried diverting the topic, however, the argument continued and the two returned home.
The altercation continued at home and in the heat of the moment, Mayura took out a gun and fired a shot toward Ratthasat. The bullet hit his cheek and he fell in a pool of blood. She immediately informed the police.
When officials arrived at the scene, they saw Mayura sitting beside her husband while the gun was on the floor. The bedroom was scattered with clothes all over the place, the Harian Metro reported.
Colonel Thaweesak Raksasin, a police spokesperson, said during interrogation, Mayura claimed her husband received a call from an unknown number on Valentine’s night. When questioned, he behaved weirdly and refused to reveal who the caller was.
Mayura was taken to custody and charged with attempted murder. She could face additional charges based on Ratthasat’s condition, who was critically injured and hospitalized, World of Buzz reported.
In a similar incident, a Texas woman fatally shot her husband after an argument in November 2018. The husband first pulled a gun on her and her friend, who managed to escape. He struck her on the face with the gun and assaulted her several times using his fists. She managed to get the gun from him after which she shot him several times.
She then called the police who reached the spot and found 30-year-old Terrance Theus lying unresponsive on the floor of the master bedroom. He was declared dead by the medics. Two kids who were in the house when the incident took place were found safe and handed over to the child protective services, ABC 13 reported.
