The Boston Red Sox await their World Series opponent with Game 1 set for Tuesday at Fenway Park. Whether their opponent is the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Milwaukee Brewers, Alex Cora's squad will be favored.

According to Vegas Insider, the Red Sox have 5/9 odds to win the World Series. Both the Dodgers and Brewers have 7/2 odds. The odds will no doubt change by the end of Saturday's Game 7 of the National League Championship Series but Boston should still be the clear favorite.

Boston is coming off a 108-win season and will have home-field advantage in the best-of-seven series. The last time a team won as many games was in 2001 when the Seattle Mariners won 116.

The Red Sox have a 7-2 record in the postseason, holding off the New York Yankees and the defending champion Houston Astros — teams that finished with 100 and 103 wins, respectively. Boston had a perfect 5-0 record on the road.

The Red Sox open the series with more rest than the Dodgers and Brewers. Boston will enter Game 1 under four days of rest, allowing Cora to have every pitcher available to start the series.

Cora has said that ace Chris Sale, who had been hospitalized with stomach issues, will start Game 1 and David Price, who overcame his postseason troubles with a win in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series, will likely start Game 2.

It's been an impressive journey for the Red Sox in 2018. Entering the season, the Red Sox had the seventh-best odds (+1,200) to win the World Series. The Dodgers had the second-best odds (+500), while the Brewers were tied for 12th with +3,000 odds.

As the season progressed, the title odds for the Red Sox steadily improved. At the All-Star break, Boston moved into second (+465) behind Houston, and ahead of No. 4 Los Angeles (+850). The Brewers were tied for ninth at +2,150.
