- Reigns and McIntyre could face off in WrestleMania Backlash 2022
Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has opened up about facing Roman Reigns at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash 2022.
While the fight is subject to change, there have been rumors that McIntyre and Reigns could headline the WrestleMania Backlash event this weekend.
Earlier this week, the contract signing segment between RK-Bro and The Usos turned into chaos on SmackDown as the two teams fought in the ring. A distraction from Reigns Chief allowed the Usos – Jimmy and Jey – to get the better of their rivals, CBS Sports reported.
The Tribal Chief then assaulted the RK-Bro members Randy Orton and Riddle before McIntyre intervened. The Scottish Warrior beat up the SmackDown Tag Team champions, the Usos, before turning his focus on Reigns.
McIntyre said his exchange with Reigns earlier in the night was a stunning moment. The two-time WWE Champion went on to add that the WrestleMania Backlash encounter between RK-bro and The Usos had just gotten more significant with the addition of Reigns and himself.
"I love moments. Moments are my favorite things in this industry. That's what it's all about in WWE, creating moments. When I knocked down one Uso, knocked down two Usos, looked behind me, and I locked eyes with Roman Reigns. That was a moment. Then I dropped him on his a**. All I have to say is at WrestleMania Backlash, it doesn't get any bigger than this, Bloodline against Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro. That's big," McIntyre said on the latest episode of Talking Smack, according to Sportskeeda.
Reigns defeated McIntyre at a recent WWE Live Event in Paris to retain his WWE and Universal Championship, Wrestling Inc reported.
Last month, Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar on Night 2 of WrestleMania 38 in a "Title vs. Title" encounter to become the undisputed WWE and Universal Championship.
