  • Bray Wyatt will reportedly be starring in a feature film, according to confidant and collaborator Jason Baker
  • Baker reveals that the film will be a crossover between Ichi the Killer and Xanadu, both of wildly different genres
  • Wyatt's fans were expecting an imminent return to the ring after his many cryptic comments in late October

Pro-wrestling fans have been eagerly waiting to see what Bray Wyatt (real name Windham Rotunda) would do after his release from the WWE, and it now appears to be trending towards Hollywood.

In an exclusive conversation with Metro’s Alistair McGeorge, Wyatt’s close friend and collaborator Jason Baker revealed that he and Wyatt are shooting a feature film towards the end of the month.

“Two weeks to go, we’re filming in Tennessee. It’s a feature film and it’s something really new and different. I’d say probably the best way to describe it is Ichi the Killer meets Xanadu,” Baker disclosed to McGeorge.

Ichi the Killer is a controversial Japanese horror movie centered around the yakuza that was released in 2001 and has since been banned in several countries due to its graphic depictions of violence.

Combining that with the musical fantasy elements played out in Xanadu, and people can only wonder how Wyatt and Baker would smash together the two wildly different genres once it releases.

The pair sent fans of Wyatt into full speculation mode after Baker tweeted a photo of them on what appeared to be a Warner Brothers movie lot in Burbank, California in late October.

While his wrestling future remains up in the air, Wyatt opted to change his Twitter name and handle, using his real-life first name, Windham instead--a sign that he has closed the door on a return to WWE.

Baker also shot down any rumors of a purported return for either of the former WWE superstar’s Wyatt and “The Fiend” personas in this movie, hinting instead that the wrestler is taking it in a “completely different direction”.

This latest update on Wyatt only confirms the October 28 report by Fightful Select in which they reported that he was in Los Angeles “fielding inquiries regarding Hollywood projects”.

Wyatt’s genius use of psychological horror during his time in WWE was widely lauded by fans of the product as it brought back a sense of the over-the-top production that pervaded the pro wrestling industry in the late nineties and early aughts.

As it stands, it looks like the 34-year-old’s highly anticipated return to the ring will be on the backburner for now, despite what many believed to be rumors of him making an appearance on either WWE’s Smackdown or AEW’s Rampage programming in late October.

"We had some meetings out there and things happened and things got moving forward, and now we’re going and shooting this feature film with him and the end of the month," Baker added.
