  • Booker T believes Cody Rhodes' return to WWE is a possibility, but not immediately
  • Rhodes and his wife Brandi confirmed their departure from AEW earlier in the week
  • Rhodes will have no shortage of superstars to feud with if he decides to come to WWE

The departure of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi Rhodes has been a major talking point in the world of pro wrestling, but Booker T is skeptical of him returning to the WWE.

On the latest episode of "The Hall of Fame" podcast, Booker T was open about his thoughts on Rhodes.

“I am not going to sit here and put myself in that position to say, ‘it will be the greatest thing in the world if Cody came back.’ But I think if we get Cody back, we’re just getting Cody back. We’re not getting [the] one from AEW. That’s just the way I look at it, I feel like we are just getting Cody back. How big of a deal is this going to be,” he said.

The 2006 King of the Ring winner went on to note that Rhodes was working as the enigmatic character of Stardust in his last WWE run and mentioned that money will most likely play a major role in whether he decides to return.

AEW confirmed the reports of a Rhodes exodus earlier in the week when company CEO and head of creatives Tony Khan published a heartfelt message on their Twitter account.

Since that time, rumors have run rampant as to what Rhodes and his wife will do next which eventually led to talks of a return to Vince McMahon’s company.

Many fans believe that the entire thing is a "work" to garner fan support for the pair, but Sports Illustrated may have hinted that this was not a pro wrestling angle.

“Every indication is that his next destination is WWE, potentially even as soon as filming segments at the Performance Center this weekend. And while Rhodes would add value to this year’s WrestleMania, he would also be a major reveal on the Raw immediately following ’Mania,” the reported stated.

Booker T seems to agree with this line of thinking.

“I am not doubting that Cody Rhodes can be back inside of a WWE ring, boom, just like that. But I don’t think this is going to be one of those Brian Kendrick situations, where he leaves the company and then the next day he’s going to be in a WWE ring. I don’t see that,” the WWE Hall of Famer stressed.

Seeing “The American Nightmare” back on WWE programming would surely be a massive boost to the promotion after releasing much of its talent over the past two years due to budget cuts.

Having him feud with the likes of Riddle, Kevin Owens, Big E, Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley should help drive interest back to the top-tier wrestling organization.
