KEY POINTS

  • Braun Strowman's suspension is possibly due to an injury
  • WWE may be twisting the script with Strowman's suspension
  • Strowman could still be in play for WWE TLC

In WWE, some segments could be taken seriously or not. But the recent actions of former champion Braun Strowman could be viewed either way.

However, most know that these are storylines meant to be broken. Hence, the suspension of Strowman following his actions against WWE producer Adam Pearce may be meant for something dire.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Strowman may have suffered a potential knee injury. This could reasonably explain why he is being indefinitely suspended, albeit to allow his injury to heal.

The WWE cracked the whip on Strowman for putting his hands on Pearce. This came during the opening segment of Monday Night Raw when the promotion's real-life backstage official would be giving a WWE Championship opportunity to a member of Team Raw that won at the recently-concluded Survivor Series pay-per-view event.

That announcement did not sit well with Strowman who ended up headbutting Pearce. The “Monster Among Men” felt he deserved the title shot, but there could be something more to that segment.

The alleged injury to Strowman has yet to be confirmed. However, even if he is injured and suspended indefinitely, WWE has been known to overturn things in the past.

Hence, Strowman could still be in play although that may hinge on how things go in the next couple of weeks.

If he is not injured, it could be another twist as WWE tries to build up the heel character of Strowman. Should that be the case, he is likely to get his shot against Drew McIntyre at WWE TLC. This should be taken with a grain of salt for now.

Assuming Strowman is indeed injured, AJ Styles, Riddle and Keith Lee loom as another option to facing McIntyre on the Dec. 20 card. All three came out victorious on the Nov. 23 edition of Monday Night Raw.

However, only one will be destined to get the crack at the WWE Title. A triple-threat match is set for the Nov. 30 episode of Raw to determine who McIntyre will face at WWE TLC. Will Strowman crash the party?

If Strowman interferes in that match, there are several scenarios to consider. It could end up being a fatal four-way either on that same show or the next. If not, he could face the winner in that triple-threat encounter next.

Lastly, it cannot be discounted that the WWE TLC event for McIntyre’s title could end up becoming a triple-threat match as well.
