There is reportedly an update on the WWE Company’s current plan regarding the Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar fight at WrestleMania 38.
Earlier it was made official that Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will face off each other in the much-awaited ‘Champion Vs Champion’ fight.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that he has been repeatedly told that the WWE Company has no plans to make it a "title vs. title" match between Reigns and Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. 'The Show of Shows' is scheduled to take place on April 3 in Texas.
"I have been told multiple times that it is not title vs title, Roman vs Brock. But, they’ve done countless storylines where both of them talk about title vs title — they’re telling you what they want but they’re not going to give it to them. So, they’re either doing that or Brock is getting beat in the Elimination Chamber and its part of his plan to look strong going against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania," Bryan Alvarez was quoted by Ringside News, as saying in an interview.
At the Royal Rumble event last week, Reigns, in coordination with Paul Heyman, helped Bobby Lashley defeat Lesnar in the WWE Championship fight. Later in the night, the Beast Incarnate entered the 30-man Royal Rumble match and triumphed in it.
It was announced that Bobby Lashley would be defending his WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber, according to GiveMeSport. Following that, Lesnar grabbed the opportunity on Monday Night RAW to throw out some challenges. Lesnar interrupted the proceedings and challenged Lashley to a match on Raw for the WWE Championship before announcing that he would be facing Universal Champion Reigns at WrestleMania 38.
It was then confirmed on Monday Night RAW that Lesnar would be one of the contestants who would go inside the Elimination Chamber to compete against Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship. The tournament is set to take place on Feb. 19 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, at the Royal Rumble, Reigns lost his Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins. But Rollins didn't earn the title because he triumphed it through disqualification. His misery didn't end there. Reigns took a chair after the match and repeatedly assaulted Rollins with it to take revenge.
