  • WWE is brewing a new stable involving former United States Champion MVP
  • The latest episode of Raw saw MVP praise NXT stars Shane Thorne and Brendan Vink on air
  • A rumored addition to MVP's stable is Apollo Crews who will reportedly turn heel

One brewing storyline that is in its early development stage is a rising stable by MVP. The former United States Champion is reportedly set to bring Apollo Crews to his team.

In the latest episode of Raw, the duo Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne took care of the high-flying pair of Cedric Alexander and Ricochet. Later that evening, MVP crashed the post-match interview to cut a promo praising Vink and Thorne as athletes who deserve more respect.

This teased the possibility of forming a new stable with MVP as the manager. Throughout MVP’s career, he was seen as a cocky and loud-mouthed champion who purposely drew crowds against him. Couple this with the speculation of Crews turning heel supports the rumor that MVP’s stable may grow more.

It has been years since Crews has been in the company and he is constantly branded as a bland character. He’s highly athletic and is able to impress crowds with his incredible strength partnered with his high-flying ability. But despite all of these attributes, he is still criticized as a generic figure in the WWE.

Given that he’s being given additional airtime, this might be the push that can put Crews to the next level. A heel turn can be a good chance for Crews’ career and having a veteran like MVP under his team can help him hone his skills even further.

There are more rumors indicating that MVP’s stable might include more athletes such as Alexander, Ricochet and Bobby Lashley. Additional talk has also been going around that MVP might turn against his current teammates Vink and Thorne as they are also still signed with NXT.

While these still remain as rumors, it will be interesting to see how WWE plays the next few weeks. The recent month involved the company releasing a big chunk of their roster and staff members. Those affected by the massive layoffs include veteran wrestlers and long-time officials.

This will open the opportunity for other stars to step up and contribute to a new direction of the company.
