KEY POINTS

  • Ronda Rousey is sticking around WWE for the long haul.
  • Rousey is expected to feud with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania and then Becky Lynch next year
  • Alexa Bliss could be another potential opponent for Rousey

Ronda Rousey is officially back in WWE, and initial reports have it that she will be working on a full-time schedule until WrestleMania 39 in 2023.

Winning the women's Royal Rumble match over the weekend is only the beginning of the 34-year-old’s new lease.

Rousey has reportedly signed a lucrative deal with WWE, which will enable her to appear frequently on the promotion's programming.

According to Wrestling Inc's report, Rousey will be facing Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 38 this April.

Moreover, Rousey’s second run with the company will not stop there. After Flair, she will allegedly engage in a feud with Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Title and this will happen at WrestleMania 39.

Ironically, that WrestleMania 39 plan will also be the end of Rousey’s current contract.

As to whether a new one will be in place remains to be seen. That may all depend on what the former UFC champion wants to do next, not to mention her interest in continuing to perform inside the pro-wrestling ring.

Before the Royal Rumble 2022 event on Saturday, January 29, there was high anticipation that Rousey would be part of the 30-woman match, where she entered at No. 28 and buckled down to work.

In the end, it was Rousey and Flair left as the two female wrestlers standing.

Rousey caught Flair in the middle of a big boot, eliminating the latter and thus setting the stage for a much-anticipated showdown at WrestleMania 38.

Hence, the next edition of WWE SmackDown should further add fuel to the fire between Rousey and Flair.

Also, it cannot be discounted that some other protagonists may be added.

Someone who has had a history with Rousey is Alexa Bliss.

The 30-year-old was live-tweeting the match on Saturday and posted an interesting GIF that read: “What a surprise.”

That post has since been deleted but some treated it Bliss taking a shot at Rousey.

Bliss clarified her tweet later on and instead stated how she was working on herself.

For those keeping tabs with WWE's flagship show every Monday night, Bliss has been seen in therapy session segments over the last few weeks.
