Wrestlemania 35 is usually the time when wrestling legends participate to give fans a nostalgic treat. And while he has been attending the previous years, there are now suggestions that Shawn Michaels could be in full battle gear and wrestle in 2019.

Although some are advised to take it with a grain of salt, the revelation by Joe Peisich of Barnburner to Ringside News goes the extra mile. He said that it would be against current WWE champion Daniel Bryan.

It is a crazy possibility, but something that WWE fans will surely enjoy. The Heartbreak Kid officially retired from the WWE at Wrestlemania 26 after losing to the Undertaker. At WWE Crown Jewel, Michaels returned to team up with Triple H, facing the Undertaker and Kane last month.

And like other WWE stars, wrestling returns would normally have follow-ups. Michaels seemed to hint at that, although nothing has been officially set as of this writing. The closest is this unofficial suggestion of him facing Bryan, who is currently tied up in a storyline involving AJ Styles, Sportskeed.com reported.

Official or not, the good news is that the WWE still has some pay-per-views to cook it up. But at 53, there are concerns about whether Michaels can still take the physicality that comes with the in-ring performance. He did impress at WWE Crown Jewels, but the story may be different at Wrestlemania 35 if he does go on to compete (and possibly with Bryan’s title on the line).

Prior to his match with Triple H at WWE Crown Jewels, the many-time champion did have concerns on one of his finishers – something that not everyone can pull off every time.

“My biggest question was the nip-up. The braces that I had are nonexistent anymore so I had new knee braces on. So that was really the million-dollar question, ‘Okay if I can make the nip-up everything else’ — I can make the elbow, you practically just fall off the top rope,” Michaels said on E&C Pod of Awareness back in November.

WWE legends are usually egged on to nail their finishers, ones where they are remembered the most. But the most important thing of it all is their overall fitness and health. Although choreographed at times, the thing here is that the potential injuries and physicalities that one can suffer are real. The risks are higher, especially for the ones who are beyond their prime like Shawn Michaels.
