  • Big Show vs. Shaquille O'Neal may be happening soon
  • AEW will give Big Show more exposure in and out of the wrestling ring

Paul Wight, more popularly known as “The Big Show” in the wrestling world, is far from done.

The behemoth has rarely been seen in the WWE ring, and some felt that he was already slowing down considering he is already 49 years old. But he proved his naysayers wrong.

Wight is the latest addition to All Elite Wrestling, a move that formally ends his 22-year run with the WWE.

This will be a new chapter in the 7-footer’s career, reportedly one that will see him play a more active role in and out of the squared circle.

"AEW Dark is an incredible platform to hone the skills of up-and-coming wrestlers, but I also love that established AEW talent can build out their personalities and showcase themselves in new ways on Dark. It’s no exaggeration when they say that AEW is boundless," Wight said in an official statement.

For those who may not be familiar with Wight’s wrestling run, he started with WCW in 1995, then known under the ring name “The Giant,” and became the promotion's world heavyweight champion twice.

In 1999, he would make a huge leap to WWE and has since been a prominent figure in the organization.

Among his popular adversaries include Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and The Rock. He also had that celebrity showdown with retired boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. at WrestleMania 24 back in 2008.

In all, there is no denying that Wight has made its mark and is expected to be named to the WWE Hall of Fame in the future.

But for now, the man-mountain’s focus is performing in AEW. One colossal clash to expect is one most are familiar with--the one with retired NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal.

The showdown has been teased repeatedly in the past, but the schedule of the two kept it from happening.

But it appears all that has been ironed out and the long-awaited match is happening soon. In fact, O’Neal is allegedly set to appear on AEW next week, one that will clearly set the stage for the highly-anticipated duel.
