Two new photos of the Xiaomi Mi 5 showing the front panel confirm several key configurations of the device. Also, recently, we reported that the Chinese tech giant is rumored to be working on a laptop dubbed Mi Notebook and now, a new report confirms the existence of such a device.

Xiaomi Mi 5

Many alleged Xiaomi Mi 5 photos have emerged in the past. However, the current bunch from China shows the innards of the front panel. Going by the leaked photos, the front panel has a cut-out to accommodate a physical “Home” button. As rumored earlier, this button placeholder is expected to house the fingerprint sensor. Thankfully, Xiaomi has not removed the capacitive keys and they are very much part of the front panel.

Furthermore, corners of the Mi 5 look well-rounded, while the internal shot of the device shows a bunch of connectors. This time around, Xiaomi will reportedly opt for an all-metal construction, according to Gizmo China.

Moving on to Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications, rumors point to either a 5.0-inch or 5.2-inch display and 1080p resolution. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset is believed to power the handset with a solid 4 GB of RAM in tow.

The Mi 5 will reportedly run the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Xiaomi's custom MIUI on top of it. Speaking of color, Xiaomi will launch the flagship in silver, gold and rose gold. And the release date of the upcoming flagship has been pegged as Jan. 21, 2016.
