The Xiaomi Mi4i is currently one of the best midrange smartphones, with impressive specs at a reasonable price tag. The handset was exclusively launched in India and some other Asian markets in April. Even though it is not available for purchase through Xiaomi’s online store for customers worldwide, a third-party retailer, Gear Best, is already selling it globally.

The Xiaomi Mi4i is one of the powerful midrange smartphones that comes with a full HD IPS display of 5 inches. It produces a display resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel count of 441 ppi.

The Snapdragon 615 chipset inside the device is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. The 64-bit octa-core processor produces a clocking speed of 1.7 GHz. The native storage provided on the handset is 16 GB.

The rear camera of the Xiaomi Mi4i is 13 MP. It is equipped with dual-LED flash. The selfie camera provided on the Mi4i is 5 MP. The device comes preinstalled with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop along with Xiaomi’s own MIUI6 user interface software.

The handset supports connectivity features 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi and v4.1 Bluetooth. It is powered by a massive battery of 3,120 mAh capacity. The thickness of the device is 7.8 mm and it weighs 130 grams. The Mi4i measures 138.1 x 69.6 mm. It is available in color options like black, white, gray, and yellow and blue. Its matte rear cover can resist fingerprints and grease.

After the release of the Xiaomi Mi4i, users started complaining about heating on the device while playing high-end 3D games. The Chinese smartphone maker has released a software update to fix the issue, reported Phone Arena.

The software update of 804 MB installs the V6.5.4.0 LXIMICD build. The update adjusts the thermal control algorithm and prevents overheating on the Xiaomi Mi4i by regulating its temperature.
