Is ‘Young & Hungry’ On Tonight? Season 5, Episodes 15 And 16 Delayed
“Young & Hungry” might be in its final season, but it’s not over just yet. Although the show will not be new Wednesday (July 4) on Freeform, fans will get two, back-to-back new Season 5 episodes on Wednesday, July 11.
The network’s giving its half-hour comedy Independence Day off and will be filling its usual time-slot with a showing of “Armageddon” instead. The sci-fi flick begins at 7:30 p.m. EDT and runs until 11 p.m. EDT.
After the one-week hiatus is up for the Emily Osment series, “Young & Hungry” will give viewers a little change of scenery. The first of the two new episodes, titled “Young & Mexico Part 1,” will step away from Gabi (Osment) and Sofia’s (Aimee Carrero) apartment for a few minutes to bring Mexico into view.
“Gabi takes Sofia on a last minute vacation to Mexico to cover up the fact she forgot her birthday,” the Season 5, episode 15 synopsis explains. “But when Sofia learns that Gabi forgot, her anger leads Gabi to make it up to her by introducing her to a handsome stranger.”
Meanwhile, back in San Francisco, California, Elliot (Rex Lee) and Yolanda (Kym Whitley) are left to take care of Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) while he recovers from surgery. As usual, the two can’t help but make a mess of things, or, more specifically, of his recent multi-million dollar purchase. Maria Canals-Barrera (“Wizards of Waverly Place”) and Jose Moreno Brooks (“Baby Daddy”) are guest stars.
Part two of the episode will premiere immediately afterward, at 8:30 p.m. EDT, and will follow as “Gabi’s attempts to reunite Sofia with her vacation love Juancarlo create even more problems for Sofia’s love life,” according to the Season 5, episode 16 synopsis. Elsewhere, Yolanda starts to have interesting thoughts about Elliot after hearing him play the piano. Jose Moreno Brooks returns as a guest star, with Chris Smith joining him.
There are six new episodes of “Young & Hungry” left, including the aforementioned two, until the series comes to an almost-end. The adventures of Gabi and crew won’t officially come to a close until after Freeform airs a two-hour movie its currently working on, TVLine reports.
“Young & Hungry” is back with two all-new episodes on Wednesday, July 11 on Freeform at 8 p.m. EDT.
